Muscovite Mica on an orthose and quartz matrix.
Mica is characterized by its easy exfoliation into thin flexible, elastic and very shiny sheets. They are generally found in igneous rocks such as granite and metamorphic rocks such as shale. The most abundant varieties are biotite and muscovite.
Thanks to their characteristics of elasticity, flexibility and resistance to heat and water, they constitute a precious material for the industry due to their properties as electrical and thermal insulators. It is used as insulation for high-voltage and high-power machines, turbogenerators, electric motors, and some capacitors.
The piece you receive may differ slightly from the photo shown, since the minerals are natural and no pieces are identical. The size is approximate.
