Natural crystallized dark red garnet.
Garnets are rock-forming minerals so they can be found in igneous, metamorphic (indicator of medium to high grade metamorphism) and sedimentary (detrital component) rocks. They are also an indicator of calc-silicate hydrothermal alterations related to Skarns.
