Crystallized spodumene of pale greenish yellow color.
Its genesis is in pegmatites and usually appears together with (paragenesis) lepidolites, quartz, beryls and tourmalines.
It has two varieties, kunzite (pink) and hidenite (green), which are used as precious stones. It is a luminescent mineral and the light it emits is yellow, cream or orange.
