Its name means " Thorn Lizard".
It could be the largest of all carnivores, it is a predator 16 meters long (more than an adult Tyrannosaurus rex) and weighs seven tons. It had a large dorsal fin and an elongated snout similar to that of a crocodile. It is known that they were good swimmers and, among others, they fed on Onchoprystis. The teeth were elongated conical in shape .
Deposits: their presence extended into what is now North Africa.
