Very well preserved Otodus Obliquus shark tooth.

The body of the Otodus Obliquus was formed by a cartilaginous skeleton, which is not usually preserved, however, the species is known for its fossil teeth and fossilized central vertebrae.

This species is one of the first giant Mackerel sharks that lived during the Paleogene/Neogene. The dentition presents a very sharp main cusp with a sigmoid profile, a slight "S" shape, accompanied by two sharp lateral denticles, located on each side. Their diet is believed to have consisted of marine mammals, fish, and other sharks.

Deposits: They have been found all over the world.

The piece you receive may differ slightly from the photo shown, as the fossils are natural and no piece is identical. The size is approximate.
