Fossil teeth of Mosasaurus sp.
Its name "Meuse River Reptile" refers to the fact that the first specimen was found near the Meuse River.
They were huge marine reptiles that reached 15 meters in length and about 20 tons in weight. They lived in deep seas, hunting near the ocean's surface, where they fed on fish, turtles, ammonites, and possibly smaller mosasaurs, making them one of the most dangerous predators to ever inhabit the planet.
Deposits: United States, Holland, Saudi Arabia, Morocco, Turkey and Bulgaria.
